Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy covers DevStories (macOS) and DevStories Go (iOS). Your repositories and shipping journal stay under your control - no developer accounts, no analytics, and no DevStories backend.

No Data Collection

We do not collect, store, process, or transmit personal information, usage data, or analytics to a developer-controlled server. DevStories does not operate a custom backend for your stories or source code.

Local Repositories

Git repositories you add remain on your Mac. Access uses security-scoped bookmarks you grant. Source code and diffs are processed on-device for story generation; they are not uploaded to a DevStories service.

Apple Intelligence

When enabled, summarization and hero image generation may use on-device Apple Intelligence models and, when needed, Apple Private Cloud Compute. That processing is provided by Apple under Apple’s privacy practices. DevStories does not send your code to third-party LLM APIs.

iCloud Sync

Stories and hero images sync through your iCloud account (CloudKit / SwiftData) when you are signed in. That data is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy practices. The developer of DevStories does not have access to the contents of your stories or repositories.

On-Device Storage

Tracked apps, generation preferences, stories, and images are stored on your devices. You can use the macOS app without enabling iCloud sync; in that case generated stories remain local until you sync.

Offline Use

Watching repos and generating stories on Mac works offline when Apple Intelligence features are available on-device. An internet connection is needed for iCloud sync, App Store download, and some Apple Intelligence features that rely on Private Cloud Compute.
