DevStories
Your commits become a shipping journal - automatically.

DevStories is a native macOS app that watches local git repositories, summarizes recent work with Apple Intelligence, and turns it into short Stories-style journal cards - hero image, title, and body. The companion DevStories Go iOS app shows those stories in a reels-style feed, synced via iCloud.
Repos stay on your Mac. No third-party LLM APIs - summarization and hero images use Apple Intelligence, with graceful fallbacks when it isn’t available.
Key Features
Watch Local Repos
Add git projects from your Mac, set a generation frequency, and let DevStories follow commits from where you left off.
Apple Intelligence
Hierarchical summarization via Foundation Models produces a short title and body from real diffs - not just commit messages.
Story Cards
Each slice of work becomes a shareable card with a hero image from Image Playground, or a deterministic placeholder when needed.
DevStories Go
Browse synced stories on iPhone in a vertical reels feed. Generation happens on Mac; Go is the viewer.
Menu Bar Agent
Open at login and keep generating from the menu bar after you close the window - Quit stops generation.
iCloud Sync
Stories and hero images sync through your iCloud account with SwiftData and CloudKit - no DevStories backend.
Privacy First
Security-scoped bookmarks keep repos on your Mac. No analytics, no developer server, no third-party AI endpoints.
Share Your Ship
Export story cards when you want to show what landed - a quiet shipping journal for you or your team.
